Size guide
Get the size right the first time.
The only unhappy vest order is a wrong-size vest order, and it goes wrong in one direction: too small, most often in Youth M. Two minutes here settles it. Printable; share it with your team parents.
Start with age — it almost never misses
The one rule: for sports with protective equipment — football, hockey, lacrosse — size up one. Pads add a full size.

Garment measurements
Measured flat on a table, seam to seam, in inches — width across, then length down. The elastic side straps add generous stretch well beyond the flat width, so read these as the garment's laid-flat footprint rather than a body measurement. Adult L and Adult XL share a length: XL is cut wider, not longer.
| Size | Fits | Age guide | Flat width | Flat length |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Youth S | younger kids | ages 3–6 | ~13" | ~19" |
| Youth M | older kids | ages 7–10 | ~13.5" | ~22" |
| Adult L | adults & 11+ — this is the adult size | adults & 11+ | ~17.5" | ~26" |
| Adult XL | bigger frames — and anyone wearing pads | 200 lb+ · or over pads | ~19.5" | ~26" |
Mind the jump from Youth M to Adult L: 13.5" to 17.5" across, with nothing in between. Players around ages 10–12 land in that gap — send them to Adult L.
Between sizes? Go up. A slightly roomy vest goes over anything; a tight one stays in the bag. And for pads: always one size up.
Sizing questions coaches actually ask
What size scrimmage vest for a 6-year-old?
Youth S — it's cut for ages 3–6. If the child is tall for their age or about to turn 7, take Youth M instead; the extra room is the safer miss.
We're a middle-school team, ages 11–14 — which size?
Split the squad. Youth M covers ages 7–10, so an 11-year-old is already into Adult L — Medium runs small at the top of its range, and a roomy vest beats a tight one. A mixed-age middle-school team is the one case where ordering two sizes is worth it.
Do the vests fit over football, hockey or lacrosse pads?
Yes — order one size up from the player's normal size. Shoulder pads add roughly one full size. Most adult players in pads wear Adult XL.
Which size for a typical adult rec league?
Adult L. It fits age 11 up through most adults — 4'6" and up — thanks to the elastic side straps. Bigger adults from about 200 lb, or anyone layering over equipment, should take Adult XL.
Are the vests see-through?
No. The knit is thick and opaque — team colors read clearly straight over a printed jersey, a number, or a shirt in the same color.
How many vests come in a pack?
Twelve, plus a SportsRepublik drawstring mesh carry bag, for $41.99. Twelve in one color marks one side — starters and subs. To mark both sides, take two colors.
